How it works
Three steps to your matches
You answer a few questions
Who the care is for, the main substance, your ZIP code and travel distance, the level of care and how you’ll pay.
We filter the directory
Only programs within your distance that offer your type of care, accept your payment and serve your age group make the cut.
AI picks your top 3
We weigh what matters to you, like MAT, mental health care, veteran programs, accreditation and Google ratings, and explain each pick.

Can facilities pay to appear?
No. Matches are based only on your answers and our listing data. Facilities can’t pay to be included or to rank higher. StartDrugRehab.com is funded by claimed listings and by treatment providers that pay to receive calls through our helpline. See How Our Helpline Works and our Editorial Policy.
Your privacy comes first
We don’t ask for your name, email or phone number. Your answers are used only to find your matches — they’re processed by our AI provider to rank programs and write the explanations — and they aren’t stored or shared with advertisers.
Treatment Match FAQ
What is Treatment Match?
Treatment Match is a free tool from StartDrugRehab.com that asks four quick questions and shows you up to three addiction treatment programs that fit your needs, location and payment, with a short explanation of why each one matches.
Is Treatment Match really AI-powered?
Yes. We first filter our directory by your location, level of care, payment, age and gender. Then an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) chooses the best fits from the programs that pass and writes the explanation for each, using only the facts in our listings.
Is Treatment Match free?
Yes. It's free to use and you don't need to give your name, email or phone number.
Can a rehab pay to be recommended?
No. Facilities can't pay to appear in Treatment Match or to rank higher. Matches are based only on your answers and our listing data.
Does a match mean my insurance will cover treatment?
Not necessarily. We match on the types of payment a program accepts, but coverage depends on your specific plan and network. Always confirm benefits with the program or your insurer before admission.
What if I don't know what level of care I need?
Choose "Not sure." We'll favor programs that offer several levels of care, so their admissions team can assess you and recommend the right starting point.
What happens when I call?
Calling a match connects you to that listing's number. For unclaimed listings, that's our free admissions helpline, answered by StartDrugRehab LLC. Read how our helpline works.
