Quick answer
Calls to our helpline are answered by StartDrugRehab LLC, an admissions call center that is not a treatment facility. Specialists listen, explain levels of care, check insurance benefits, and may connect you with partner treatment providers. The call is free, and you're never obligated to choose any program.
Who answers when you call
When you call (877) 847-2855, you’ll reach an admissions specialist at StartDrugRehab LLC. Specialists are not doctors and can’t diagnose you or give medical advice. What they can do:
- Listen to what’s going on and the kind of help you need
- Explain the differences between detox, inpatient, PHP, IOP and outpatient care
- Check your insurance benefits for addiction treatment, if you’d like
- Share treatment options that may fit your needs, location and budget
Our directory is independent of the helpline
Facility listings come from SAMHSA’s public FindTreatment.gov data, and we list facilities whether or not they work with our helpline. A listing is not an endorsement. If you want to contact a facility directly, use the contact details shown on its page.
Questions to ask any helpline
Ask any treatment helpline these questions, including ours:
- Who am I speaking with, and what company do you work for?
- Which facility would you refer me to, and is it licensed and accredited?
- Do you or the facility receive any payment for this referral?
You should get a straight answer every time. Steer clear of anyone offering free travel, free rent or cash to attend a program. These are warning signs of patient brokering.
In an emergency
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For a suicidal or mental health crisis, call or text 988.
Ready to talk it through? Call (877) 847-2855. It’s free and confidential.
Frequently asked questions
Is the helpline the same as the facility I was looking at?
No. Facility pages on this site show public information about that facility, but calls to our number go to our admissions helpline, not to the facility. Each facility page shows a disclosure saying so, and, where available, the facility's own contact details.
Does it cost anything to call?
No. The call and the insurance check are free and confidential, and you don't have to commit to anything.
Who pays for the helpline?
The helpline may receive marketing fees from partner treatment providers. Any such arrangement must comply with federal and state law, including laws that prohibit paying for patient referrals. We'll always tell you which program you're being referred to before you agree to anything.
What if I'm in crisis?
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For a suicidal or mental health crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
